How I Got Here...

In 2011, I consciously chose to "begin" and intentionally I started to build a creative life. I live in NYC with the love of my life (often referred to as BF or Superman) and two feline fur balls, Tucker and Java, who sometimes takes over my blog. I'm originally from a small town in Wisconsin, so I have a love of nature which is evident in my photos.

I have a non-creative day job and during the first part of 2011 I traveled a lot. Every week I was somewhere. When taking the train one day I decided that my time before and after my regular work day would be spent my way.  I had purchased a few greetings cards on a whim - you know, you're waiting in line and you grab them - one day. Well, I decided to look the artists up online and I fell in love. I discovered a whole online artist community. I wondered where I had been and without much thought I jumped on the e-course bandwagon.

My BF once asked what I would do or be if could do or be anything - without hesitation I said an artist. He laughed, I got defensive, he then said "you ARE an artist, you just need time to create and make your art."  I walked around for days saying "I am an artist" to myself (and out loud when no one was around).  That is when I jumped on the e-course bandwagon that I mention above and honestly I haven't looked back.

I carry my camera with me always. I see the world naturally through a macro lens. And, I often pause to snap a photo of something most people walk past and never notice. It often means that if you are walking with me - I'll have to catch up to you.
