Shared Messages from the Universe - Grow

It is my belief that messages from the universe speak to me and remind me of something that is inside of me. When I first see them, I often don't even know what is really being advertised. Instead, the message conjures emotions or thoughts relating to something that is going on within me; in my heart, in my mind, in my soul. I see them on billboards, in magazines, store windows, church plaques...everywhere.

I secretly call them soul whispers.

The messages are all around us

Grow: uprise, originate, spring up, develop, expand, change, mature

I love that this store is simply called Grow.

As soon as I walked past it I new that I had to have a picture. It speaks to exactly where I am...I am growing.

I am growing...as a blogger, as a photographer, as a person.

But, mostly as an artist.

I am less afraid to try things. I get lost in the simple act of creating. I long for the moments when I can escape my crazy day job for just a half an hour to walk the streets and be awakened by all that surrounds me.

I take a lot of pictures, I play with pens, I create jewelry, I'm writing/creating an e-course, I'm going to sell photographic prints. . . I'm growing my passion.

I want to encourage you to grow - to expand your world.

How are you growing?

How does "grow" whisper to your soul?

The Little Bliss List

Every Friday, Liv Lane hosts the Little Bliss List link party...it is about listing the little things that have touched our hearts and made us feel joy, peace, warmth, love and/or a little bliss during the past week. So, I'm jumping on the bliss band wagon.

Little moments of kindness from others this week that brought me moments of bliss:

Gramercy Park - Behind the Gate
1. So much blog love this past week from all of you. Thank you - reading your comments brings me little moments of bliss all day long while at my crazy day job - they pop up on my phone as I have them forwarded to my email.  Thank you for the way that your comments warm my heart all day long.  By the way, there's been so much love that I haven't gotten around to replying and or visiting your blog in return. I'll get there, I promise.

2. I've had a busy social calendar this week - very unlike me. Dinner with childhood friends from Wisconsin and their 2 beautiful daughters. So much fun to visit with them in NYC.

3. Girl's night out - meeting up with very dear friends and sharing drinks, food, and fabulous conversation. Love you two!

4. A sweet treat left on my desk by a "happiness fairy" in my office. I arrived to work on Wednesday greeted by a cupcake with sprinkles and a sweet note from a coworker. Sweet bliss!

Click the button below and visit the link party and share the love with a few other blogs. Get inspired by reading their blogs and remembering what brought you bliss and touched your heart this past week.

As always, thanks for being a part of my creative journey. - Lori

My New Obsession

As some of you know I upgraded my life to an iPhone a couple of months ago, and I will be honest, I am still figuring out everything that I can do with it. (By the way, I am not receiving any money nor product for mentioning any brands in this post, darn it.)

During the past few weeks I have discovered Instagram and am playing with textures. I have  decided to get better at using my iPhone as a camera by playing along with Paper Coterie and their April Photo Challenge. This month's theme is connecting and getting to know each other.

So, I decided today to feature what I have done so far.

Day 1:  My Home...

Day 2:  My Handwriting

Day 3:  My Smile
I have also started to connect with people I know, people I admire, and strangers that inspire me on Instagram.  Feel free to learn more about me through my photos this month on Instagram, you can find me here @lorimoonstudio. You can also visit my Flickr account or stop back here on my blog as I will probably feature a few more later this month.

Do you capture everyday moments in pictures?

I want to encourage you to capture a moment of your day with a photo, create a memory, and then share how that moment touched your heart with someone.

Shared Messages from the Universe

It is my belief that messages from the universe speak to me and remind me of something that is inside of me. When I first see them, I often don't even know what is really being advertised. Instead, the message conjures emotions or thoughts relating to something that is going on within me; in my heart, in my mind, in my soul. I see them on billboards, in magazines, store windows, church plaques...everywhere. I secretly call them soul whispers.

The messages are all around us
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the window at the Restoration Hardware store near Madison Square Park in NYC. (And, darn it, no kick backs for saying that, giggle.)

I walked past the store a couple of weekends ago and had to time the photo just right so I was the only one in the picture.  I also, honestly, had to fight the urge to strip down to my undies to take the picture.  I am just not that brave.  But it is where my thought went first - what a great self-portrait, is all the photographer in me could think.

This message whispered to my soul with such strength that I have been thinking about it ever since.

Come EXPOSED (but not naked)

It made me think about blogging and what I expose, what I share, and how I communicate with all of you.

I share a lot on my blog but you probably also notice that there are many things that I do not share.  (no front facing photos of Superman, no picks of my extended family, my friends or their children, no rants about my day job, and my address nor my phone number are published)

As a blogger I feel that I have an obligation to share, inspire, and motivate.  But, and it is a pretty big but for me, I also feel that same obligation to honor those around with me with their privacy.

This is a personal choice, one that may change over time, but for now it is where I am most comfortable.

I want you to know that you will always be given the "real" me - I honestly don't know how to be anything else and consciously choose not to figure out how to hide.  When you meet me in person you will find that I am outspoken to a fault, but kind, warm and intuitive in a way that cannot be explained.

I choose to always come exposed (but not naked) to my blog, my creative journey, and to my art.  I want you to know me...but some things are private - I hope you understand.

How does "come exposed (but not naked)" whisper to your soul?
