Holiday Cards & Shared Messages from the Universe

The holidays are all around us and I love NYC during the Christmas holiday. Now that Thanksgiving is over I can start to think about Christmas.

I played with my flower stamp to create a few holiday cards. I loved how they turned out.

 Also, if you are a regular reader you may be familiar with my Monday shared messages from the universe...

It is my belief that messages from the universe speak to me and remind me of something that is inside of me. When I first see them, I often don't even know what is really being advertised. Instead, the message conjures emotions or thoughts relating to something that is going on within me; in my heart, in my mind, in my soul. I see them on billboards, in magazines, store windows, church plaques...everywhere.

I secretly call them soul whispers.

The messages are all around us

I had a pretty low key weekend, needing to take care of myself and rest. I am thankful for Superman being patient and creating hot baths. 

I came across the page above while reading and dreaming through a travel magazine. 

I seriously love this.

There are so many things that I could say but I am going to let it speak to you today.

Stamp Making - Flowers Inspired by Okra

Some of you may remember that at the end of September I shared some art that I made using the vegetable okra as a stamp.  I love flowers and okra makes the most beautiful flower when cut used to stamp. If you missed it you can see it here.

I made stamps out of the small flowers which you can see here but I hadn't made a stamp out of the large flower. Creating a more permanent way to duplicate the shape.

First using tracing paper trace the shape that you want.

Next, place the side with the pencil marks onto the Speedball carving rubber and rub so that the pencil transfers to the carving rubber. The start to carefully carve.

I like the way it turned out. Okra on the left and my new carved flower stamp is on the right. 

Hmmm, I think I will enlarge the flower on a photocopy machine and create a larger stamp.  The above stamp is only a little larger than an American quarter so I'm thinking I need one that is a couple of inches at least.
