Drawing and Multitasking at the Day Job

AEDM Day 9

I'm linking up with Art Every Day Month throughout the month of November.

Creating art each day: doodling, painting, journal making, stamping, photographing, etc.

Do you multitask?

Most tasks at my day job require me to use my non-creative side of my brain and my full attention. I deal with numbers, analyze results, compile projections, blah, blah, blah.  I also participate in conference calls, a lot.

I've started to multitask while on these calls, or in meetings, conferences, when I travel. I sketch, I draw, I doodle.

Yesterday all I had was a sharpie and some copy paper. This is what I created during a conference call.

Thank you for all your ideas about what I should take with me next week when I travel for my day job so that I can still create.

I encourage you to embrace the moments when you get them to create. Multitask, it really only does take a few minutes, and you never know it might make the other task a little more enjoyable.

  2. I have a day job that requires very left brain thinking - but I am a right brainer. So I doodle during almost every meeting that I attend. Ican so relate! Thanks for sharing.
