Daydreaming...

Art Every Day...my day 3
Every Monday, at my day job, there is a staff meeting. Last week, I doodled part of the above. Yesterday, I added to it.
This was the extent of my creativity. Mondays for me can be stressful. My energy was zapped by the end of my work day which was coupled with grocery shopping on the way home (this requires schlepping and public transportation).
A fellow member of my Fly Tribe, Julie, posted her much prettier version of "words of inspiration" last week. You can see it here on her blog. Great minds think alike.
I hope your day is filled with inspiration. No matter where you have to be, discover the inspiration within you.

  4. Glad you are aboard! It has been fun so far. Love you doodle - and the fact you were doing in a staff meeting. The always dreaded and boring staff meeting.

  5. Lori,

I love your doodles! I love the messages & appreciate the fact that you found time during your hectic day for a creative outlet! I cannot imagine grocery shopping using public transportation... I don't think I could do it! Thanks for stopping by my blog! :-) Kris

  8. I am a LOVER of words & doodles!!! i love that you have little symbols in there & that your words are in different directions. Probably mirrors life, wouldn't you say? We're not necessarily always moving forward - sometimes it's sideways, sometimes it's up & down, sometimes maybe even backwards (depending on how many staff meetings you have)

A creative heart grabs snippets of time whenever & wherever it can. So if fitting in an hour or two to paint or play doesn't always seem possible, you make do with the time you have - as you DID in your staff meeting. I'll bet you were more tuned in by doodling than you would have been by staring blankly at a boring numbers list. :-)

    ...yes... FLY. :-)

  9. Your positive words and doodles are a great way to spend those staff meetings -- a bit more bearable!

It's great that you found some inspiration there.

  10. Too funny Lori. I do the same thing ( doodle at work). I have a little notebook that I bought at TCC in which I have always ready for these doodling moments.

  12. What a wonderful way to stay connected to your heART when you are otherwise sort of dragged into heart numbing stuff like meetings -- I do this kind of thing when I have to sit thru meetings on database fields and number crunching...ack! :)

  14. Fantastic doodle, and what a great post - so true! This is exactly what I used to do at my 'team' (or rather excuse for goal posts to be shifted) meetings. It is difficult to find your inspiration in amongst the stress so good for you ensuring that you find it. Thanks for sharing, much love, Jennibellie xx
