May Flower Challenge - Day 17 - Clematis

I'm fascinated with flowers.
They are all over my tiny apartment. I photograph them all the time.
I draw, paint, doodle them, create them out of paper...I also see them all over NYC.
Each day during May I will post flowers and I hope that you will join in.
The only rule is that your blog post or flickr photo that you link much contain flowers.
Click above on the May Flower Challenge Page to learn more.

Visiting Wisconsin in Spring is like stepping back in time.
About 2 or 3 weeks back in time.
The trees had just started to bloom.
The daffodils were out but the tulips were just starting.

My Mom was still prepping her flower beds.

On a Summer trip last year, when I visited Wisconsin,
the Clematis in her garden was blooming.

And this year, I found this seed pod
still on the vine. It had lasted through Winter.

I like them both for different reasons.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. That's a lovely clematis. Here in Chicago, after a first week of warm weather, my clematis has shot up about about two feet of lovely green tendrils. Fun to watch!

  2. Deborah - It so fun to watch how they twist, turn, and wrap themselves reaching for the sky.
